Overview
DDS (DataDistributionService) data distribution service is a new generation of distributed real-time communication middleware technical specifications developed by the Object Management Organization (OMG) based on HLA and CORBA standards. DDS adopts a publish/subscribe architecture, emphasizing data-centricity. Provide a rich QoS service quality strategy to ensure real-time, efficient and flexible data distribution, to meet the needs of a variety of distributed real-time communication applications.
Vortex Introduction
Vortex is an intelligent data sharing platform that supports real-time data sharing between devices, machines and people. Including sensors, real-time embedded processing units, mobile phones or handheld devices, computer browsers, and any computing unit that needs to share data can share data over the network (wired or wireless), covering cloud applications to LAN applications.
Vortex fully meets the OMGDDS standard specification and provides API interfaces including C, C, Java, JavaScript, C#, etc., which can run on a variety of conventional operating systems, including Linux, Unix, Windows, VxWorks, and mobile operating systems (such as Android).

Vortex offers multiple product components to accommodate different data real-time sharing needs:
• VortexOpenSplice: A full-featured DDS middleware software product that can be deployed on desktop computers and servers. Embedded real-time operating systems (such as VxWorks single-board computers) are also supported. Provides a variety of debugging, testing, and model-based design network (MDD) tools including Tunner, Tester, and Modeler.
• VortexLite: DDS software in devices and sensor systems that can be deployed with limited resources (computing, memory, storage).
• VortexCafé: Pure Java-implemented DDS software with special optimizations for mobile and cloud applications.
• VortexWeb: DDS software that provides JavaScriptAPI that allows HTML5-based web front ends to send or receive DDS data.
• VortexInsight: Provides monitoring and management of Vortex systems and Vortex-based system functions.
• VortexCloud: Provides the ability for Vortex-based applications to share data over a wide area network (WAN) that can be applied to private, public, and even hybrid cloud platforms.
• VortexFog: Enables efficient data sharing from a multicast network to a peer-to-peer network and provides flow control.
• VortexGateway: A high-performance, highly scalable configurable protocol gateway framework for bridging the DDS protocol with other communication protocols. Support for more than 100 protocol types, as well as support for third-party protocols to be extended in this framework.
