In order to adapt to such an environment, the entire campus card system is designed in a short-term offline work mode, and this requires that the money deposited into the campus card not only be recorded in the back-end database, but also must be recorded in the card. Once the network is disconnected, any tool can independently operate the card according to the built-in program and configuration, and then return the operation result to the background server when the network is connected. This design of the system minimizes the dependence of the entire system on the network and the server background, so that the entire card system can run smoothly for a long time.

After the card is reported lost, there may still be economic losses. When the user loses the card, even if the loss is reported, no one can guarantee that the money in the card will not be used. Because the loss reporting operation triggers the system to send blacklists, when the system broadcasts blacklist information, not all consumer terminals are online. If the consumer terminal is offline, it will miss the blacklist information. And this card can continue to be used on this offline terminal. Only when the card is used on a consumer terminal that receives the blacklist information will it be locked and actually enter the lost state.

To recharge your card online, you must pay it by card. The credit card payment method such as WeChat payment is used to recharge the personal campus card account, but the data modification at the end of the background database is completed, and the account balance recorded in the card is not modified, and the card must be charged, and the money can be added to the card. .

Long-term offline or damage to the equipment will result in loss of consumption water. When the user uses the card on an offline consumer terminal, the consumption record is cached in the local device. Functionally, today's campus card has involved canteens, bathrooms, boiling water, borrowing books, shuttles, access control, attendance, and sign-in in all areas; from the scope, the campus card network has been laid to almost every building in the school; In terms of the number of implements, there are three or four hundred POS in the canteen, and one or two thousand in the POS of the bathroom and boiling water. At present, there are 40,000 cards in the campus card system, involving various types of personnel in the school.

The Beijing Institute of Technology has been used for more than ten years. With the continuous expansion of the system and the aging of the long-term use of the machine, the maintenance of the system has increased year by year. In all maintenance work, the most difficult thing is the water control POS. On the one hand, due to the relatively hard water quality in the north, it is very easy to cause blockage of water control valves. On the other hand, the “hands-on ability” of engineering students is too strong, and the equipment control line is cut off directly to cause equipment damage or off-grid. If the former can also be reduced by strengthening maintenance, the latter is simply a nightmare for maintenance workers. Due to the small problem of the campus card system, and for a long time, both the user and the school staff will inevitably have various complaints about this system. It is often asked if such a system can be re-commissioned by a manufacturer. Although theoretically, this is possible, in reality, it is necessary to directly reinvent a system of such a large scale. And the difficulty can be imagined. The bigger question is, even if it is completely changed, who can guarantee that the new change will be better than now?

Three major steps to solve the dilemma

Although there are many problems, it is difficult to solve them, but it can't be delayed. After a long period of observation, thinking, research, and summarization, the campus card system upgrade is also included in the agenda of school information construction. . In the face of a monster, it is necessary to have strategies and steps to tame it.

STEP1 upgrade system, correct data, reshape interface

A major problem with the existing campus card system is that the core software is too old. At present, the campus card system still uses the software deployed in 2004. Although the manufacturer has solved many problems in the development process over the past decade, it has solved many problems. But if the school does not adopt the new system, these problems still have no solution to the school. Moreover, because the development technology of the old system is too old, when it is docked with some new functions, it must be re-developed by patching, which not only greatly delays the development of the construction work, but also makes the school send the school again and again. The location of the mouse. Therefore, only the replacement of the old software can bring the transformation of the campus card system to the correct track.

At the same time of software replacement, the personnel information base of the campus card system should be connected with the personnel information base of the school registration center. After completing this docking, it is guaranteed that the future personnel information will be entered into the carding system at one time, creating conditions for the self-service card.

The connection between consumer and non-consumer needs can be considered in different ways, thereby reducing the coupling degree of the entire system. STEP2 improves technology, reduces quantity and improves quality

Compared with the number of campus card networking devices, the current equipment maintenance strength is indeed stretched. The offline of the networked device, the damage to the entire card system is like the biting of the ant to the elephant. Since it is not guaranteed that all devices will be online in real time, it is better to design the largest number of water control devices directly into the offline mode of operation, because the water control device is characterized by a very small amount of each consumption.

At Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, its campus card has enabled a mechanism called “small wallet”. Users can use cards to directly consume water-based POS. When the amount of consumption reaches a certain level, such as 3 yuan, one-time stickers The card is paid from the account. Through this mechanism, only the equipment for card payment needs to be connected, and all one or two thousand water controls can be used as a deduction terminal. This technical transformation will greatly reduce the maintenance difficulty and long-term maintenance cost of water control equipment, and thus improve the service quality.

At the same time, the online level of the equipment is improved, and the accuracy of the account can be greatly improved, which not only can reduce the loss of the return of the logistics department due to the loss of running water, but also can reduce the trouble caused by the unfavourable card to the user.

STEP3 replace old equipment and enable new card

Another problem currently faced by the campus card system is that the card security is insufficient. Although the back-end reconciliation mechanism can prevent the criminals from cracking the campus card, the best solution is still to use the new card. However, in order to use a new card, it is necessary to replace all the old tools that do not support the new card.

When all the machines support the new type of CPU card, the integration of cards and mobile phones through the emerging technologies such as mobile phone NFC, and the technical basis of eating and brushing the mobile phone is no longer an unreachable future.

The most difficult part of the above three steps is the first step. Once you have finished, the next two steps will be logical. If all goes well, the new system upgraded by Beijing Institute of Technology will go online around May this year, and the next two steps will be implemented gradually in the next one to two years.
