Huntsman Launches Three-Dimensional Printing Resin

Huntsman Corp. has introduced a new stereoscopic printing resin with mechanical properties similar to those of ABS, which can maintain long-term stability. RenSharp SL 7580 is an epoxy/acrylate blend with high flexural strength (2.4 GPa) and excellent elongation at break (11%); it retains high elongation after several months of aging. This application requires that the mechanical stability of the material be improved and the brittleness of the previous SL material be eliminated. The new photopolymer is satisfactory in long-term durability, and the white opaque product produced looks like an ABS injection product. New materials can be used to make models, prototypes, etc., toughness and heat resistance are good, and parts are also particularly easy to clean and polish.
