Techmer PM Launches Permanent Antistatic Additives for Electronic Packaging

A newly developed permanent antistatic additive from Techmer PM, USA, is used in LLDPE, HDPE, PP, HIPS and ABS medical nonwovens, soft and rigid electronic packaging. Tests on nylon 6, PBT and PET have also shown promise. Unlike traditional amino-based antistatic agents, the new Techsperse IDP is based on the attachment of a polyurethane segment to the alkyl chain, which makes it compatible with polyolefins. The surface resistivity of this environmentally friendly antistatic agent is 11 Ω·m 2 , so the static electricity can dissipate within a matter of minutes and a second.
