Three common classifications of color business printing paper

Due to the continuous development of printing technology, there are many types of printers used for color documents and image output. According to the principle of color printing, the full-color printing methods can be roughly divided into: inkjet printing, color laser printing, sublimation printing and thermal induction printing . Correspondingly, according to the output mode and output requirements of the color printing equipment, the color business printing paper can be subdivided into color inkjet printing paper, color laser printing paper, thermal induction printing paper, and sublimation printing paper.

1. Color inkjet printing paper

There are many types of inkjet printing paper, but color inkjet printing paper is different from general paper. Color inkjet printing paper should have good ink absorption and ink fixation, which can absorb water-based ink and prevent the ink from spreading to the surroundings. So as to maintain the original color and clarity completely. The printing performance of color ink-jet printing paper is mainly determined by the structure and function of its ink-absorbing coating, not only to absorb ink quickly and evenly, to prevent color bleeding, capillary phenomenon and through-printing during the ink drying process, but also to ensure a good Printing quality, color reproducibility, good roundness of ink dots, high printing density, high color density and color intensity, especially high-gloss photo paper-grade color inkjet printing paper, which requires clear printed images and printing density High, it can reach the level of silver salt photos in terms of color vividness, detail level and color fastness.

Color inkjet printing paper can be divided into ordinary color inkjet printing paper, matt-coated color inkjet printing paper and gloss-coated color inkjet printing paper, among which gloss-coated color inkjet printing paper has the best performance and the price is also The highest, with higher gloss, high whiteness of the paper, good ink absorption, clear image gradation, color saturation, strong color expression, similar to photo-level image effects, but its speed of absorbing liquid and Water resistance is reduced, it is the highest grade inkjet printing paper, widely used in the commercial field.

2. Color laser printing paper

Color laser printers are high-quality color print output devices with low cost and high efficiency. However, compared with color inkjet printers, the image printing effect of color laser printers is not very good. The overall color saturation of the screen is dark, and the transition level is less, which is closer to the printed image than the silver salt photo-level image effect. Moreover, a layer of silicone oil is always attached to the printing surface of the output of the traditional color laser printer, and the entire screen is strongly reflective.

The imaging principle of a color laser printer is similar to that of a black and white laser printer, which uses laser scanning to form a latent image of charge on the toner cartridge, then absorbs the toner, and then transfers the toner to the printing paper, but there is only one type of black and white laser printer. Black toners, and color laser printers use yellow, red, cyan, and black toners. Based on this, the performance requirements of color laser printing paper are not very high, as long as there is high whiteness, the paper surface is smooth, the difference between the two sides is small, and the loss of the printing equipment can be less. However, if it is to be used for making high-end renderings, tenders, exquisite brochures, and some special uses for waterproofing and moisture resistance, the base paper should be processed to obtain good color printing effects and corresponding functions.

3. Color thermal printing paper and sublimation printing paper

Thermal induction printing is the use of specially processed thermal induction printing paper, which is an advanced technology that combines silver salt photography and thermal recording.

No ribbon or ink is needed in the printing process. The printing paper itself contains yellow (y), magenta (M), and cyan (C) dye layers. When the printing paper receives the thermal energy of the print head and the ultraviolet fixing lamp, the color is released.

Dye-sublimation printing also uses thermal induction technology, the principle of which is to "lift" the color dye onto the printing medium by some means to form a gorgeous image. The dye sublimation transfer printing uses special paper output, the output effect is delicate and exquisite, and the picture quality is comparable to silver salt photos. Although Dye Sublimation prints photos very well, due to its slow printing speed, high requirements on printing paper, and high printing costs, it is difficult to gain popularity in the business field.
