Avery Dennison Relabeling Solution

Re-stickable labels are tailor-made for soft packaging that needs to be reused and can provide consumers with great convenience.

This label is widely used in multiple markets, providing manufacturers with a convenient, easy-to-operate and economical method of repeatedly opening and closing the packaging-combining the brand logo into the same label. Depending on the contents of the package, the re-labeling can be used in two main areas-"dry" applications and "wet" applications (the package contains water, oil or solution).

"Wet" re-labelable applications mainly include wipes, such as 'non-alcoholic medical type', 'hygienic type' children's wipes, cotton pads for skin care, and cleaning wipes for daily use. These products contain saturated liquids such as water, perfume, oil and chemicals, and will directly contact the adhesive.

"Wet" applications also include labels for food packaging, such as labels for meat and cheese products containing water or oil. Products in the package can pass through the packaging film to contaminate the adhesive. In "wet" applications, it is important that the adhesive should be able to resist the contents.

"Dry" applications include "hygienic" products (such as toilet paper) and food products (such as rice, noodles, tea and coffee, etc.).

Resealable labels are usually printed with high-precision pictures to highlight their brand image-but when consumers remove the labels, these labels often become "floating labels" on the packaging.

Therefore, the end user will require the label to be firmly fixed on the package-and this requirement can be achieved by die cutting or permanent adhesive.

When developing re-labelable food products, different regions will have different requirements for adhesives that directly or indirectly contact products.

After considering the actual packaging label, packaging product, service life, sealing strength and the number of re-labelable required, you can determine which adhesive to use.

The seal strength depends on the strength of the adhesive and the specific material. The peeling methods are "smooth", "forced" and "jerky".

Resealable labels usually have an "open" station with local adhesive-free features. Customers can tear labels without touching the adhesive. This effect can be completed in our coating process, or by the printing factory to apply glue on the back side.

Many re-stickable labels need to be covered with transparent PP or PET to improve the stiffness of the label to obtain good resilience.
