In the past, when people were dealing with household waste seepage, which was a mixture of food residues, various flavors, and medicines, evaporation was commonly used to send the evaporated residue to a waste incinerator for incineration. The researchers first heated the boiling water to 250 degrees Celsius, and then under 200 pressure conditions, the liquid waste was piped into a container filled with solid catalytic beads, and oxygen was continuously injected. After about 10 minutes, 90% of the harmful organic matter in the waste water is removed. The residue is carbon dioxide and water, and about 10% of the organic residue can be sent to ordinary sewage treatment tanks for treatment.
At present, the new type of processing equipment has been operating for 1,000 hours, but the catalyst still works effectively. The equipment is more expensive than ordinary incinerators, but its operating costs are much lower than those of incinerators. In addition, the new treatment unit uses the "cold combustion method" and does not emit as much harmful gas as the incinerator.
