Japan NKK Launches 15 Years of Colorfast Coating

In February 2004, NKK Steel Corporation of Japan succeeded in researching a new kind of roof painting steel plate named “Fairy”, which enables the roof of the house to maintain a good color for a long time.
NKK is adding additives to the coating of the steel plate to improve the performance of the coating. Generally, the color of the roof plate is beautiful when it is new, and soon it will fade. Because of the natural oxidation properties of NKK's new coating, the color will become deeper after being used for a while, thus overcoming the problems of fading and aging. This new type of steel roof can be used for 15 years without repainting or painting, and has twice the durability as a normal steel roof.
According to reports, the roof steel plates produced by NKK are now available in red, green, tea, green, silver, dark gray and other colors, with monthly sales of up to 500 tons.
