In 2005, Nanjing Deaf School was the first school in the country to implement the "Vibration Wake-up Alarm System" project. During the installation of the whole project, it was received on-site guidance from Director Zhou of the Special Education Department of the Ministry of Education; the school was involved in fire drills. For the nearly 100 deaf and dumb students who lived on the alarm system, they could be evacuated from the fifth floor of the school building in about 3 minutes.
