Banna Garden's "Molecular Breeding of Energy Plant Jatropha curcas" Passed Acceptance

This project is aimed at the main problem of low seed yield of Jatropha curcas, which leads to low seed yield. It systematically carries out studies on the effects of various plant growth regulators on the development and sex determination of Jatropha curcas. After discovering that cytokinin is the main factor that positively regulates the development and sex determination of Jatropha curcas, further cloning and identification of related functional genes, and on the basis of establishing transgenic technology, further adopting gene promoters with different expression characteristics to obtain a series of transgenes Little Tongzi plant. Published 9 SCI papers through this project; applied for 2 Chinese invention patents and 2 international invention patents (PCT); obtained two new varieties of Jatropha curcas.

The study found a breakthrough to increase the yield of energy plant Jatropha curcas seeds, and laid the foundation for future functional gene research of Jatropha curcas and the use of transgenic technology to improve Jatropha curcas, and its achievements are at the advanced level at home and abroad.
